Hey Fox! I've been AWOL for a few days. Glad you tried the heart again - it is GORGEOUS! You always do a beautiful job matching thread to the pattern you are tatting. Do you give it much thought beforehand? :) Ann
Thanks, Ann! You make me laugh - again! Do I give it a lot of thought ...NO! I usually look at what I've got and think for about 30 seconds and feel that I MUST be choosing the wrong thread! Talk about a confident tatter! Fox : )
woweee, you did so well, now I have to do that to practice for my 'you know what' piece which is very scary! The colours worked beautifully. Be proud of yourself.
Bravo! You were kind enough to share your first unsuccessful attempt, and are now showing how perseverance pays off! I love the delicate look of mignonette tatting but find it difficult to do. You also a flair for choosing the right thread, even though you say you don't plan it!
Actually, the threads on my heart are a bit too long for the pattern and the shape suffers because of it - look at Gina's and you will see how even they should be.
I measure them them by by eye, but some tatters use a little picot gauge to measure - I think they do anyway! Mine is a strictly hit and miss affair! Fox : )
