To celebrate International Tatting Day, 2010, I would like to share this old book with other tatters who are interested in reading it. So, I will mail it to the first person who shows interest, and then she, or he, can mail it to the next interested tatter. I'd like to see it off my bookshelf indefinitely, appreciated by new readers!

ReplyDeleteGina, I will send it to you and you can then send it to Tatskool and then off to Jane. We'll take it from there. I had the thought that there should be a huge time frame for people to keep it out there longer. I'll post about this later but wanted to respond asap.
Jane, I really do not care if I get it back as long as it is circulating and not languishing on a shelf somewhere. And if it gets lost in the mail... you could step off the curb and get hit by a truck! Trust me, I know! I WAS!

ReplyDeleteOh I would love a chance to see this book too! This is such a treasure, and it is so sweet of you to share it. Whoever ships it will have to insure it's safety as best they can. I have actually had a book get lost in the post, and that would be such a loss.

ReplyDeleteI'm pleased to say I have a copy of this amazing book and have been trying to track down (via my old diaries) exactly how I 'knew' to order it back in 1994! I'm assuming the leader of our tatting group had a copy, and I got the ordering information from her. I had no idea who Angeline was at the time.
It wasn't until after I received the book that I discovered it was hand bound by Angeline (age 80 by then)! The production of the book had to be so much work, let alone the amazing compilation of tatting patterns. A real treasure and a hugely important piece of tatting history.
I eventually found a lot of information about Angeline and her husband on the internet. And Teri Dusenbury has a "Hall of Fame" section of her blog which features some amazing letters Teri received from Angeline back in the 1990s.
I have my book under lock and key, so I applaud your generosity in sending your book on a Grand Tour! I know it will be appreciated by all!

Oh, Fox, If this book gets around to North Carolina, I would love to have a read and peak at it. There is a small group of tatters here that meets once a month, called the Tri-Tatters, who I am sure would love to see it, too.
