The first half is BEAUTIFUL - I'm sure the second half will be also! I know the struggle to finish though. I made a 40 inch edging for a pillowcase a few months ago and I was DRAGGING myself to the finish. But as Gina said, when all was said and done, I was SO happy with it and proud to have completed it.

It's lookin' good, Fox! I, too, usually add the lace later. One, it's easier to work with and, two, as Gina said, it's much easier to transfer to something else if needed later. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Whoo Hoo! I'm ready for it to be done too! LOL! Only because once it's done, you will see the beauty of it and can heave a sigh of relief, pat yourself on the back, and say, "I DID IT!" You may have to wait a year or so to see it again and realize how delicate and beautiful it is since you're so involved in it right now, but you will be pleased.

I prefer to sew on later too. It's easier to correct mistakes if it's not attached. Easier to measure overall. Plus...you can always cut the lace off if the fabric becomes damaged and put it on another hanky.

Arty Lady, There is more than one way to attach an edging! I like to have it free to measure it as I go and then sew it to the hanky with like coloured thread. This is only the second I have done. I have tried tatting to cloth as well, with other patterns and it can work very well. Depends on the fabric, the sewn edge of it and the type of stitch used. There is a lot of info out there on this topic if you look around. Thanks for the visit.

Very nice indeed. Just wondering why you attach the tatting at the end, rather than whilst working it? I'm starting my first hanky, attaching as I go, and finding it very frustrating.
