I know the struggle to finish though.  I made a 40 inch edging for a pillowcase a few months ago and I was DRAGGING myself to the finish. Only because once it&amp;#39;s done,  you will see the beauty of it and can heave a sigh of relief, pat yourself on the back, and say, &amp;quot;I DID IT!&amp;quot;  You may have to wait a year or so to see it again and realize how delicate and beautiful it is since you&amp;#39;re so involved in it right now, but you will be pleased.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I prefer to sew on later too. It&amp;#39;s easier to correct mistakes if it&amp;#39;s not attached. Easier to measure overall. I like to have it free to measure it as I go and then sew it to the hanky with like coloured thread.  This is only the second I have done.  I have tried tatting to cloth as well, with other patterns and it can work very well. Depends on the fabric, the sewn edge of it and the type of stitch used.  There is a lot of info out there on this topic if you look around.
